Intentions

Welcome; the intention is to tell a little about my whereabouts, travel adventures, and issues at Elk Ridge, including when I will be on the ranch, when a great time to visit (send grandchildren), etc. Hopefully there will be different divisions for Travel, Ranch Activities, etc.

Fwd: Thanks, Thanks, Thanks Again and Again

FYI. We did a good deed yesterday evening at Claire Garrison's house in Emporia, Judy and I, after our discussion agreeing that deed belongs w the Garrison family. Interestingly enough, I found out strangelydifficult to let go of that piece of paper, but it rightfully belongs to Claire. Kind of like Frodo and The Ring! Ha!
I do not believe his children/grand children have much interest in the profound historyof the Marx family (not to mention the Marx Construction Co formed by the brothers) in Lyon Co., and so it is understood that if he feels that document is not respected, back it comes.
Some of you might not have much of an idea what I'm talking about and if that's the case just call me.
Had a great week back in Kansas. It is so beautiful this time of year, all green, New little calves, spring time. We did get our full complement of turkeys as well by the way..
 "no place like home"
Love to all, Dad/UR

Richard,
I had totally given up on obtaining this title document.  I thought it to be lost and gone forever.
I was astounded and momentarily speechless when you handed it to me.
I am so glad and pleased that you did the further digging to locate it.
It truly is not like the photocopy of the title document in the Court House which looks to be a hand written copy on legal format and not nearly as nice as the document you brought me.
I am so pleased that your family took such good care of the document.
After 120 or so years it is in just marvelous condition.
I sort of want to do a little "Snoopy Dance".
I am not usually the emotional one but you "got me" but good.
It was a joy to finally meet you in person.  We were very pleased to finally meet you.
I always enjoy a "trip down memory lane" and would find it a joy to visit with you anytime.  I would even take you on a "around the pasture tour" and point out the few things I know from my youth.
First I will apologize for the condition of the areas Susie and I have not had the energy to clean up.  Especially around the old barn and wash house.  We have had to make up for many, many years of neglect.  Absentee ownership has a lot of draw backs and Robert could not take of it from Washington, DC.
With some advance notice I would be glad to look through my papers and pictures and try to find things that might be of interest to you and add to your previous knowledge. The Fenn's book is just wonderful and the greatest source of information that I know.  The whole family is indebted to them for that fine book !!!!
I know that you could do the same for me as I do not recall much about your family.
Susie and I were pleased to meet you and have such a nice historical get together.  Let's do it again with more time available.
Many thanks again for the title document.  We will treasure it !!!!!!!
Clair
