Intentions
Welcome; the intention is to tell a little about my whereabouts, travel adventures, and issues at Elk Ridge, including when I will be on the ranch, when a great time to visit (send grandchildren), etc. Hopefully there will be different divisions for Travel, Ranch Activities, etc.

Hello cousins,
Thought you would like to be in on some exciting news. Mom is being inducted into the Emporia State University, Beach Hall of Distinction.
Each fall there is a benefit concert, and at the concert there is a special inductee during the intermission.
This year mother is being recognized, and I thought you would all like to know.
Mom and Dad have been strong supporters of ESU, in all areas, and the Department of Music has been special to them.
I thought you'd like to see this letter and announcement that we received. I am sure I'm missing emails, and couldn't copy some,
So please feel free to share!
I know this is coming soon, but if it works for anyone's schedule I know mother would be thrilled to see you.
There is a lot going on.
Thought you'd like to hear good news!!!
Love Joyce

Stuff
Looks like more nail biting! (Just in case you might have missed it).
Now if we can only get through football...
Friday, August 1, 2014
Hi All, guess I'll just put the plans for the next few months out there so you (and I) will know where I'm supposed to go next...
August: I'm open. It's really nice up here in the cabin in the cool and rainy mountains. Really nice. Getting the lawns mowed, gravel spread, weeds pulled, pasture mowed, tractor fixed, all the fun stuff.
September:
Spending the night w Erica and Jeff (remember??) on the 5th with Lynn AND Nick and Judy Montalto, en route to Alaska and Canada.
We come back from that sojourn on the 19th, same deal.
26th: to a Sabino High School football game where Ashley and Erica will be inducted into the Sabino High School Sports Hall of Fame for their successful endeavors on the tennis courts in high school! Now That's exciting. I don't think anyone in our family has that on their spreadsheet yet!!
October: this gets problematic...the Topeka West High School 50th reunion starts the 2nd, on Thursday, goes through Sunday am with BBQ's, tours, dinner party. My Phi Delta Fraternity is also having a reunion that week-end in Manhattan, complete with free tickets to the Kansas State-Texas Tech football game on Saturday. Can't miss that, of course. There is also a little reunion of my tennis team mates from those days. So, From the 2nd of October to at least the 5th I'll be in Kansas, plus some travel time in front and back. Big doin's back home!!
Also in October is my Los Charros horse ride, 21-26th.
And that's all there is.
Hope all is well around the country!
The mountains are really really nice this time year; just beautiful. Somebody come visit!
Love to all,
UR/Dad

At the ranch
Re filled the hummingbird feeder. We've counted 23 humming birds.
Good grief.
The mountains are truly wonderful this time of year.
Hope ASL is well around the country!
Love, Dad/UR
