Saw a very interesting, "new" cathedral today, designed by Gaudi, late 19th c. Filtered the old cathedral designs, but w flowing lines, light. See what you think. Is beautiful in person.
Intentions
Welcome; the intention is to tell a little about my whereabouts, travel adventures, and issues at Elk Ridge, including when I will be on the ranch, when a great time to visit (send grandchildren), etc. Hopefully there will be different divisions for Travel, Ranch Activities, etc.

Barcelona
A couple of pics...we've seen a lot of the old/magnificent cathedrals of Europe, but we visited one today that was very interesting and stunning. A relatively "new" one, about 150 yrs in fact and still in the making, by Gaudi. Took the "old" concepts, and modernized then with fluidity and use of light. Amazing. A couple of pics..look close.

Stuff
Guess it's time I cranked this up again somewhat.
I was up at the ranch last week; mowing, chasing bull elk around helping a friend with an archery tag, cabin maintenance, put in a new fence, took down an old one, etc etc. It is so nice up there this time of year.
Friday we leave for our cruise and I wanted to leave some emergency contact info, "just in case"..
We leave Fri am from Tucson, arrive in Barcelona Saturday am and get to the ship. We fly from Tucson to DFW to Miami, then the biggie to Barcelona.
The name of the ship is the Noordam of the Holland America line. The complete itinerary will be boring, but we leave Barcelona and arrive in Rome on the 10th of October (or the 9th)...
I do not know the cabin # yet (we've been reassigned for some reason or another) and I will get that to you hopefully.
To reach us: 1st, email should work. We will get internet services but it is somewhat sporadic, especially at sea.
For emergency (only, as they say), can use Holland America themselves during "business hours":
5 am to 7pm, M-F, use 1-800-426-0327 (PST), or 7am to 3pm Saturday-Sunday.
One CAN call the ship direct, but it is $16 per minute:
1-866-425-7447. There apparently is a menu so you will need the ship name as above. If busy, it is stressed, hang up quickly and try again.
And, there you have it:
We get back to Tucson on the 12th of October; the 16th I go for my 4 day Charros horse ride, back on the 20th. I get a couple of weeks off and then go deer hunting for a week. Then I don't have anything to do. Yet.
Love to all, keep in touch!
